Welcome to Declarative Futures

Your partner in building cutting-edge wireless communication and embedded software solutions. Scaling software, systems, and networks. Let’s connect to explore how I can support your next project.

About Brett

I am a seasoned embedded software engineer with experience in wireless communications, power electronics, and testing. I thrive on solving complex challenges and am always seeking new opportunities—whether it’s for a full-time role or contract work.

Business model
I offer flexible engagement options—full-time or contract—to help you build more reliable embedded software.

To eliminate risk and prove value immediately, I provide free initial wireless software testing services using my scalable wireless measurement lab. This upfront testing identifies performance issues, validates network quality of service, and demonstrates the impact of professional-grade testing and orchestration on your product.

Following the free assessment, I deliver
paid expert driver development and in-depth testing services tailored to your project scale. Software coverage is for embedded Linux, Zephyr RTOS, Bluetooth, and other networking protocols on hardware from Nordic Semiconductor, ST, NXP, Microchip, and beyond.

Whether you need wireless communications expertise or broader system-level innovation, my goal is to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions that push the envelope while serving your exact needs.

Current Focus

My core emphasis is on wireless communications, robust testing, and scaling—especially Bluetooth drivers and networking protocols for highly resource-constrained devices.

Currently implementing
Advanced wireless test equipment combined with Declarative’s proprietary multi-protocol testing framework. This blend is designed to catch
85–90% of certification errors upfront, significantly improving customer time-to-market and reducing chamber certification costs.

Available for immediate projects:

  • Zephyr drivers (Bluetooth mesh, Bluetooth peripheral, SPI, I2C, UART and more) for Nordic, ST, NXP, and other vendors.
  • Yocto embedded Linux and Zephyr build environments for multiple targets.

Beyond drivers, I’m integrating datacenter-grade technologies—CI/CD and containerization—into the embedded systems landscape.

Lab Capabilities

I have a scalable, sophisticated lab infrastructure designed to facilitate quick experimentation and visualization of embedded systems. It is a fully equipped environment capable of supporting rigorous testing and demonstration.

Design Goal
Continuous refinement of lab technology for fast experimentation on resource-constrained embedded systems while making complex wireless behavior easy to measure and visualize.

Credentials and Background

  • MIT Systems Engineering: Certificate for solid grounding in systems engineering principles.

  • Past experience from prior roles:
  • Full implementation of wireless OTA update tools for 1 KB RAM MCUs
